Michael Loonan - Jingle & Song Composer, Performer

Jingle and Song Composer, Musician, Performer, Arranger, Producer - Michael Loonan does it all. His growing list of business clients include 3M, First Choice Health Care, Quaker Oats, Westwings Bar and Grill, along with Professional Sports Teams, including the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Detroit Tigers, St. Paul Saints, El Paso Diablos, Charleston Riverdogs, New Haven County Cutters, Fort Myers Miracle, Charleston Stingrays, Sioux Falls Canaries, and more. Michael's ability to crank out a high-quality musical ditty in virtually any musical genre has put him in high demand for TV/radio jingles.

A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Michael began playing music as a child, beginning with piano lessons in third grade and eventually teaching himself guitar from Jimi Hendrix and Beatles records. Through the years, he's played with various Twin Cities bands. In addition to his solo work, he is a keyboardist/guitarist/vocalist for the local dance band 2nd Generation.

Michael Loonan released his debut album, Graduation, in 1988. A promising mix of hard rock and gentle ballads, the album received favorable reviews and local airplay. His 1993 release, Share the Disguise, marked Loonan's growth as a songwriter, vocalist, and arranger, showcasing his knack for memorable, melodic pop craftsmanship. Share the Disguise received strong reviews in the local press and earned a Minnesota Music Awards nomination for 1993 in the Pop Album category.

In addition to his recording work, Michael performs publicly around the Twin Cities, including regular appearances at the popular Axel's Bonfire Restaurants and St. Paul Saint's games during the summer months. Michael 's easygoing, humorous stage manner, strong original and cover material attract a loyal following. Michael is well-known for his creation of "the Loony Bin Band" and parody songs for KSTP-AM's The Mischke Broadcast. He produced and played on T. D. Mischke's debut recording Better Man, and contributed backup vocals to Mischke's 2004 release, "Whistle Stop." Michael has served as producer, session musician or arranger on recordings by many Minnesota artists, including producer Steven Anderson (, who utilizes Michael's vocals, guitar and piano on his nationally released CD compilations.
